HYDRAULIC
FRACTURING

Reservoir stimulation through hydraulic fracturing is routinely used to enhance production and improve asset recovery in conventional as well as unconventional reservoirs. Hydraulic fracturing is also used for injection and storage of waste, e.g. in cuttings re-injection (CRI), produced water re-injection (PWRI) and CO2 storage (CCS).

Our geomechanics experts use specialist software for hydraulic fracture design, analysis and optimisation. Integrated with our geomechanical models, this allows accurate fracture and injection modelling in order to optimise stimulation strategies. The risk from induced hydraulic fractures due to drilling or injection, together with determination of caprock integrity, can be assessed.
